Joe Ferraro

I bring more than 20 years of enterprise software experience concentrated in health tech. I began my software career in 2005 at private equity firm Patriot Equities in Philadelphia. In 2009, I joined Mavens as CTO, leading engineering and product development for 11 years until Mavens was acquired by Komodo Health in 2021. At Komodo, I served as VP/Head of Engineering, leading a 125+ person data science and engineering organization behind Komodo’s real-world evidence platform. I joined Salesforce in December 2023 to lead the global Life Sciences Cloud product organization.

I lead the global product vision and strategy for Life Sciences Cloud at Salesforce, spanning pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, consumer, and animal health. My work has been central to the successful Dreamforce launch of Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement, now the top Life Sciences application in the industry, driving major pharma companies — including Pfizer, Takeda, Novartis, AbbVie, and AstraZeneca — to standardize on Salesforce. I’m a strong advocate for the open-source community: from 2011-2017 I built MavensMate, a suite of developer tools for the Salesforce platform used by hundreds of thousands of developers, and I was named a Salesforce MVP from 2012-2017. I’m a regular speaker at Dreamforce and industry events worldwide.

I live in Arlington, VA, with my wife and our two children. I coach youth soccer and I’m an avid fan of DC-area sports teams.
