Trailhead—Salesforce’s free online learning platform will help you skill up and prepare for success in your current or future career path. And it all begins with a simple first step: creating your Trailhead account. But that’s just the start.

With Trailhead, you can learn the Salesforce skills you need to succeed, earn badges and credentials, and join Community groups to get product support, and grow your professional network. Once you’ve created you’re account, here are the 4 next steps.

Step 1: Identify your goals

There are many reasons to sign up for Trailhead. You may want to learn a specific skill for your current role, understand a new product, or build your career.

“I immediately felt drawn to the Trailblazer Community and the network of experts I could speak with. Trailhead offered an interactive and fun way to learn the skills I was looking for. Both of these resources helped me build my expertise, land a new job, and move forward in my IT career journey.”

—Amanda Ouedraogo, Senior IT Business Analyst, Digital Project Manager

Step 2: Make time for learning and plan your path

A great way to start exploring what success means for you is by motivating yourself to go further with Trailblazer Ranks. Unlock new ranks by challenging yourself to earn more points and badges while building in-demand skills along the way.

You can kick off your rank journey with Road to Ranger, a curated learning path designed to create the perfect blend of badges and points to take the guesswork out of reaching the ultimate rank status—Trailhead Ranger. Road to Ranger consists of three trailmixes (think of these as learning playlists):

“However you find the inspiration, know that lifelong learning is the best way to achieve and sustain success in this ever-changing world of technology.”

—Aditya Pothukuchi, IT Manager at Labcorp

Step 3: Build in-demand skills (and win prizes*)

Learning is a reward in itself. But there’s always room for some extra motivation. With Trailblazer Quests, you challenge yourself by learning new skills with the added incentive of winning sweet prizes.

Whether you’re new to Salesforce, thinking about getting certified, or just want to keep earning those Trailhead badges, there’s a quest for you.

Kick-off questing in three easy steps:

  • Choose your quest: Pick which one works best for you from the Trailblazer Quests page—from beginner to expert, there’s a quest for everyone.
  • Complete the challenge: Follow the instructions listed on the specific quest, and make sure to complete your quest within the specific timeframe.
  • Be in with a chance to win*: Complete your quest and you’ll be entered for a chance to win fun prizes (see each quest for prize details and official rules).

“I’m not a tech-savvy person […] so the learning process has been challenging. But it’s also created such a sense of accomplishment, and I want to keep going!”

—Gracie Prasanson,Director of Sales at Deli Management Inc.

If you’re new to Trailhead, kick off your quest journey with the Beginner’s Quest trailmix. Quests change regularly, so join the Trailhead Quests Group to stay up-to-date on all things quests.
