Hear from Garima, a Technical Architect working in Salesforce's Global Delivery Center, on how AI is transforming her role.

When Garima Sindhwani talks about her role at Salesforce, there’s an enthusiasm in her words that immediately grabs your attention. “I enjoy turning chaos into structure,” she says, reflecting on her journey as a Technical Architect within the Global Delivery Center (GDC).

At Salesforce, being a Technical Architect means more than just holding a title — it’s about building a strong partnership with customers to truly understand their needs and designing long-lasting solutions.

In a world driven by technology, Technical Architects play an essential role: designing systems that aren’t just functional but also resilient, scalable, and geared to solve real-world challenges. It’s a role that requires a mix of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and creativity — qualities that Garima brings to every project.

Solving complex problems, one architecture at a time

In the age of AI, architecture is no longer just about structure. It’s about enabling intelligence with integrity and guardrails. Because of this fast-paced evolution, every day is different for Garima.

One moment she’s in discovery sessions with clients, the next she’s co-creating solutions with architects, analysts, and developers—then brainstorming new product features and fueling continuous learning.

Bringing clarity to complexity and delivering meaningful outcomes for customers is what makes each day truly exciting.

From building powerful integrations with MuleSoft to supporting and mentoring her teammates, Garima handles it all with heart and skill — thanks to the steady support of both her work family and loved ones at home. She doesn’t just design solutions — she builds ecosystems that align development teams, solution architects, and business toward a common goal.

“My role is about architecting the solutions. In simple terms, I enable systems to communicate with each other by leveraging the power of MuleSoft and Salesforce. Integration is crucial because it’s going to fuel the agentic era.

Agents are only as smart as the data they access, and that data comes from various endpoints — whether legacy or modern. By focusing on building integration architectures — through APIs, event-driven flows, and legacy systems that are scalable, reusable and future-ready — we enable agents to act intelligently,” she says.

Integration is crucial because it’s going to fuel the agentic era. As our customers are moving towards agentic AI, agents are as smart as the data that is fed into it.”

Shaping the future with Agentforce and agentic AI

As Salesforce pushes the boundaries of AI innovation, Agentforce — its intelligent agent framework — has become a major focus area.

Agentforce is Salesforce’s AI-powered platform. It’s designed to transform how your organization handles tasks through intelligent, autonomous and assistive agents.

What truly sets Agentforce apart is its ability to securely access and act on your real-time data within and outside of Salesforce”, Garima explains. Salesforce has the “A.D.A.M. framework” of agents, data, apps, and metadata, to truly deliver the complete experience for the enterprise. It’s a profound shift: moving from reactive systems to proactive, goal-driven intelligence.

For Technical Architects, it means solution designs need to evolve. “We need to design architectures that are not just scalable and secure, but also flexible enough to integrate with these agentic capabilities,” she shares.

Garima points to real-world examples already in play: On Salesforce’s help site, visitors can interact with Agentforce to get exactly the information they need without scanning through countless articles.

Internally too, agentic systems are at work. “The other day, I was having an issue connecting my phone through VPN. I reached out on the Help Techforce Slack channel. Within a minute, the agent responded with the exact steps I needed. I could have spent much longer searching through documentation otherwise. Similarly there are many other Employee Service Agents available to enhance our day-to-day productivity.”

We need to design architectures that are not just scalable and secure, but also flexible enough to integrate with futuristic agentic capabilities.

Growing together — the Salesforce way

For Garima, Salesforce isn’t just about building solutions; it’s about building herself.

At every stage, there’s an emphasis on continuous learning. From access to a rich library of resources to support for certifications and innovation forums, Salesforce creates an environment where growth never pauses.

In this role, ”Learning is constant — whether it’s a new Salesforce product, exploring a new feature, or discovering innovative problem-solving methods”, Garima explains. She highlights the importance of initiatives like POD Learning or Hackathons where architects and developers learn and innovate together —  ensure that learning stays dynamic and connected to real-world needs.

Building architectures and careers: What newcomers need to focus on

For those considering a career path like hers, Garima offers advice that’s as practical as it is inspiring.

  1. Be a contextual continuous learner. “Things are moving so fast. You need to know where you need to invest your time — and focus your learning so you can do your job better and faster,” she explains.
  2. Hone your communication and collaboration skills. In today’s environment, building great solutions isn’t just about technical expertise. “You need to make sure you understand others clearly and work well with them,” she says.
  3. Practice deep listening. Often, people start preparing their response before the other person has even finished speaking. Garima believes this leads to unnecessary back-and-forth. “If you listen fully, half the work gets resolved immediately,” she says.
  4. Keep it simple. “Even while thinking about the future, don’t over-engineer. Build what the business needs — not what’s possible just for the sake of it,” she adds.

Building what’s next

At its core, Garima’s journey is about building — not just robust architectures, but possibilities for businesses and individuals alike. At Salesforce, she has found a platform that amplifies her technical expertise, her leadership skills, and her drive to create lasting impact.

For anyone looking to shape the future through technology — and do it within a company where trust, learning, and innovation are more than just buzzwords — Garima’s story offers a glimpse of what’s possible.
