Salesforce Debuts as One of the Best Workplaces in Canada

Salesforce Canada has made its debut as one of the Best Workplaces in Canada 2018.

It’s an honour for me to share that Salesforce Canada has made its debut as one of Great Place to Work’s Best Workplaces in Canada 2018 – another exciting milestone for our team! Each year, Great Place to Work undertakes a rigorous study of workplaces across the country to determine the best of the best. From trust to innovation to equality, Salesforce has earned a spot on the list by cultivating a culture that allows our employees to bring their whole selves to work and to do the best work of their careers every day. We are humbled to be among the many impressive companies on this list.

As a 12-year veteran of Salesforce, I can say that there’s never been a better time to be part of our exciting journey than right now. We are truly at the pinnacle of growth, innovation, and social impact. And it’s all thanks to the passionate, bright, and caring people across the entire #SalesforceOhana here in Canada. I’m referring to our employees, of course, but I’m also talking about our broader family (we call it our Ohana) of customers, partners, and the communities where we work.

You may have heard the term “change agent” to refer to people seeking to make the world better. Here at Salesforce, we call them Trailblazers – and we’ve no shortage of them. I meet them in the social lounges in our offices, I encounter them at our customers’ offices, and they exist all throughout the Salesforce ecosystem. It continues to amaze me what we can accomplish collectively. The energy when we get together with our customers is incredible. It’s like a family reunion. It’s our customers sharing their own stories of success (and challenges too) that inspire us to move faster, drive further innovation, and ultimately create a mutually rewarding cycle of success.

We work hard, but we also take time to take care of ourselves and each other. One of my favourite examples was a morning spent sharing perspectives on diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement while on a hike of the Grouse Grind with the CEO of a customer. Yes, this was a business meeting for 2 hours, but in a glorious setting while hiking up Grouse Mountain at 7 am! I couldn’t have been more proud to be part of this team as we raised $50,000 for CAMH during our annual curling bonspiels or while participating in the Toronto Pride Parade last year with a contingent of more than 300 Ohana members and their families.

In my time here, Salesforce Canada has grown from about 30 employees in Toronto to more than 1,300. While we have achieved extraordinary growth to become one of the largest software companies in Canada, it’s the strength, tenacity, and creativity of our people that have and continue to drive our success, and incredible success for our customers.

And we’re just getting started! We’ve announced a $2 billion USD commitment to Salesforce Canada over the next 5 years. I can’t wait to see our presence and momentum grow even greater. We’ll have more exciting news to share at our Salesforce World Tour Toronto event on May 3. I hope to see you there!

What gets you excited about going to work?

With the tremendous growth Salesforce has experienced in the decade I’ve been here, there has always an opportunity to learn and grow. Whether it be continuously improving our skills or taking on new responsibilities, there is never a dull moment at Salesforce!

Richard Eyram

Richard Eyram joined Salesforce in 2006 to lead the Canadian enterprise business. Richard is based in Toronto, and is accountable for the growth and expansion across the country in the enterprise market. Richard joined Salesforce after completing a two-year sabbatical, sailing from Toronto throughout the Caribbean with his wife and two children. Prior to this journey, he held various positions with Pivotal Corporation, including Vice President & General Manager, Vertical Markets for North America. Rich Joined Pivotal via an acquisition, selling his consulting firm, inFORM, to Pivotal in 2001. Richard began his professional career with Accenture, focusing on business transformation and the emerging field of technology-enabled sales & CRM market.  Richard received his BComm from the University of Toronto.
