From the Farm to Flows: How One Trailblazer Built a Tech Career from Scratch

Kacie Molina had no formal education and almost no tech exposure. Through Talent Stacker, Trailhead, and the Trailblazer Community, she transformed curiosity into a Salesforce career and discovered opportunities she once thought were impossible.
“If you had told me five years ago that I’d be sitting in front of a computer, building complex automation flows and rolling out AI agents, I wouldn’t have believed you,” says Kacie Molina, a 10x certified Salesforce Admin, Consultant, and self-proclaimed “Flownatic.” While she now spends her days building powerful Apex actions and deploying Agentforce agents, her journey into tech was anything but traditional.
Life before the cloud
Kacie was a member of the Amish community from age seven to seventeen, living a life with limited technology. She spent her days riding horses, gardening, hand-sawing logs, and homeschooling. After Kacie’s family left the Amish community, she chose to maintain a low-tech lifestyle. The turning point came when she was gifted a MacBook and encouraged to swap handwritten daily activity reports for digital documents. As she began using digital tools, she realized the systems thinking she used on the farm translated naturally to technology and could become the foundation for a technical career.
Bridging the gap with a Trailblazer Workforce Partner Program
Kacie built her own sewing business, but struggled to navigate the complexities of using technology to run it. A mentor suggested books and podcasts to help her learn new skills, and that’s when her Salesforce journey began. Through her learning, Kacie discovered Talent Stacker, part of Salesforce’s Trailblazer Workforce Partner ecosystem, which helps people build Salesforce skills and launch new careers. She signed up for Talent Stacker’s free five-day challenge and logged into Trailhead for the first time. After earning her first badge, she decided: “I would much rather spend my days learning on Trailhead than sewing.” Beyond technical training, Talent Stacker helped Kacie build the professional skills and confidence needed to land her first role as a Salesforce Admin.
Today, she runs Kawaii Cloud, freelances for clients, and builds complex Salesforce solutions. More importantly, the experience showed her that a career in tech was possible for someone like her.

The community that changed everything
When Kacie first joined the ecosystem, she struggled to speak up in meetings or share her opinion. The Trailblazer Community completely unlocked a confidence in her that no certification could. She leaned into study groups to demystify complex technical concepts and navigate standardized testing for the first time. When she hit roadblocks, she turned to Trailblazer Community groups and found patient mentors who took the time to show her the ropes when she was still learning the basics of spreadsheets and professional networking. Today, Kacie views the Trailblazer Community as a vital support system where you can meet some of your closest friends and mentors.
Conquering AI skepticism with trust
Kacie admits she was initially skeptical of AI. Like many people entering the Agentic AI era, she worried the technology might replace her. But after learning how Salesforce approaches trusted AI through the Einstein Trust Layer, her perspective changed.
She started small, using AI to help build formulas and automate repetitive tasks. Today, she uses AI daily to build Apex actions, accelerate flow development, and increase productivity for her clients. She now views AI as a collaborator — handling tedious work so she can focus on higher-value solution design and architecture. Kacie is currently leading an Agentforce rollout for a client, deploying an agent that helps non-technical users interact with complex data more easily. Outside of client work, she continues building her AI skills through build-a-thons, hands-on experimentation with Salesforce Headless 360, and mentoring others in the Trailblazer Community who are beginning their own AI journeys.
