My Background
My path into research started with a question threaded through my journey: who gets a say in how technology is built and used? At Room to Read, I brought users into the design of our Salesforce Org without knowing I was actually doing user research. At UC Berkeley’s School of Information I studied how people perceive algorithmic moderation in online communities, and I worked on a project to bring more transparency and community participation to decisions about surveillance technology in Oakland. Those projects taught me that good research gives people a voice in what gets built. I’ve carried that lens through years of ethics-by-design, Responsible AI, Inclusive Design, and now into how people and AI work together.
My Expertise
At Salesforce, I lead product research for Responsible AI, infusing user insights into how we design AI experiences to be trusted and trustworthy. I'm a member of Salesforce's Advisory Council for the Ethical and Humane Use of Technology.
When I'm not working
When I'm not writing up research insights, I'm dreaming of writing a children's book, crafting kid's Halloween costumes, decorating elaborate cakes, hosting design-thinking challenges for kids, gardening, and coaching soccer.
