For B2B organizations, the digital storefront has become the central hub for driving growth. However, many B2B buyers abandon standard digital storefronts when they cannot find the right items quickly. If your storefront buries high-margin stock under out-of-date catalog items or makes your team manually enter 150 individual line items, you lose revenue to friction.
In July, Salesforce B2B Commerce delivered new capabilities designed to solve both sides of this equation. From strategic merchandising controls to instant bulk cart operations and rich media extensibility, these features help you build bigger carts, shorten buy cycles, and drive profitable growth. Additionally, developers now have enhanced platform extensibility to streamline backend integrations and core business processes. These new features drive bottom-line revenue while eliminating the technical friction that has historically slowed down B2B growth.
Highlights from the July B2B Commerce release
Maintain complete control over storefront discovery while simplifying navigation, improving the visibility of your highest-priority items, and uncovering more data and insights about buyer intent. New features include:
- Boost & Bury Rules: New tools allow merchandisers to curate storefront rankings. Move high-margin, surplus, or promoted products to the top of search and category results while pushing down low-stock or end-of-life inventory.
- Ordering of Facet Values: Customize the display sequence for filter groups (like brand, size, material, or price) so buyers spot essential product parameters immediately.
- Search Analytics (via Data Cloud): Gain clear visibility into search queries, click-through rates, conversion outcomes, and zero-result searches to continuously optimize your product catalog.
What these new features mean for your business
B2B purchasing is inherently complex, but executing an order shouldn’t be a bottleneck for your buyers or your technical team. Our latest platform and extensibility features remove the friction from bulk ordering, streamline offline approval workflows, and seamlessly connect your existing media systems without expensive custom development.
- Product Media Extensibility: Connect external digital asset management (DAM) platforms, 3D models, technical specs, and hosted CMS videos directly into your product detail pages using flexible LWC wrappers.
- Import & Export Cart (CSV/JSON): Empower buyers to upload pre-built spreadsheets straight into their cart or export cart contents offline with one click for rapid internal approvals.
