Report 2022

Salesforce has a long-standing value of equality, and in 2015, we were proud to be one of the first companies to implement an equal pay assessment to ensure employees are paid fairly across gender globally. We remain deeply committed to equal pay, and continually audit pay as part of our annual compensation planning process. We are transparent in our efforts, publishing the results annually. To date, we’ve spent more than $22 million to ensure pay fairness globally.

Today, we are sharing the results of the first Ireland Gender Pay Gap report, which shows the difference in the average hourly wage of men and women across our Ireland-based workforce. The report found that there was a gender pay gap between men and women in Salesforce Ireland, which is largely due to having more men in leadership positions. We also have more men working in roles with higher rates of variable pay — especially sales — and the median pay gap reflects that. We are actively working to increase the pipeline of women in leadership roles in Ireland and throughout the company. Some highlights of these initiatives include:

• Hiring a diverse range of graduates that reflect the diversity of the community. This year, our Irish graduate employment program, Futureforce, was 48% women.
• Engaging leadership to lead with equality through diversity dashboards, unconscious bias training and inclusive leadership principles.
• A re-imagined hiring model with inclusive hiring processes, inclusive job descriptions, a consistent interview feedback tool and training for all roles to eliminate bias in the hiring process.
• Building a pipeline of diverse talent coming into the industry through investment and support of STEM education and workforce development programs such as our apprenticeship program which specifically focuses on helping women get into critical technical roles.
• Continued investment in equality in the region, with the appointment of a Head of Equality Strategy in Europe this year.

Ireland is performing ahead of Salesforce’s Global ESG targets for women representation and hiring. We have 37.5% female representation across our Ireland employee base and 42% of new hires year to date are women. We are proud of the progress we’re making, but recognise there is more work to be done. We will continue to drive equality through pay fairness, advancement strategies, and hiring and retention programs to reach our ultimate goal of equality for all.
