Room: Level 1, Breakout C
Trust is traditionally defined as 'confidence in, or reliance on, some quality or attribute of a person or thing, or the truth in a statement'. Sounds simple enough, right?
Yet, according to the 2019 Edelman Trust Index, recently released at Davos, Australia is still low on the trust barometer, with only 48% of Australia's general population trusting its four key institutions (government, business, non-governmental organisations and media).
It's obvious that there's been a recent break in trust not only across businesses, but across our everyday interactions with government and the media. In this session, we'll hear from people with unique perspectives around how to establish, build, and maintain trust, while exploring ways for Australia to start repairing its trust gap.
