We want to start
off by saying,
It is important to watch
Release Readiness Live so
that you get a
snippet of the coming
attractions of the
functionality that's
We really focus
on the features
that are going to be most
useful and impactful.
I get to find out what's
new, what's coming.
It's a way for me to see--
not just read, not
just experience
through webinar, but
see a real person
talking about
what's important.
We'd love to hear what
your questions are.
Your feedback
is so important.
I think that's one of
the most amazing things
actually about the
Salesforce ecosystem,
it's how involved
trailblazers
are with the evolution
of our products.
I love getting questions
during Release Readiness
Sometimes, you never know
what you're going to get.
People could ask
potentially anything.
It really helps me think
about things as I'm
With Release
Readiness Live,
you get the
great opportunity
to actually hear from the
mouths of the people who
spend a lot of
time thinking
about what exactly
you all, as Salesforce
developers and admins, are
actually wanting to see.
And also informs us how
we can improve the product
The reason why we
stick with Salesforce
is because we feel
like we are heard.
I feel like I'm
helping make decisions,
hopefully, good
decisions that
will benefit all
admins, all developers,
I feel like we're
a part of something
We'll see you next
time in the cloud.
Welcome to Release
Readiness Live
I'm Gillian Bruce,
principal admin
evangelist and
Salesforce super nerd,
which means I am so
honored to bring you
This is where we get nerdy
and cover the new product
innovations coming your
way in the next release.
But before we get into
my happy nerd zone,
I need to remind you
to only make purchasing
decisions based on
currently existing
features and
functionality.
Now, with that covered,
I want to thank you
We are here live in
person in the studio.
And you spending
time with us
as you investing in
yourself to learn what's
new in our
products-- what's
And thank you
also for providing
Your feedback is really
what helps our technology
teams build
solutions centered
We've got a great lineup
of release readiness
Just a few weeks
ago, we kicked off
Release Readiness
Live at Dreamforce
with admin and
developer RRL.
You can watch
that on demand.
And today, we've
already covered sales.
This morning,
we're about to get
And then tomorrow, we've
got service and flow.
Now, we're going to spend
the next hour together
with our product
managers in-person,
who are going
to be giving us
live demos highlighting
the top CRM analytics
features in the
winter '24 release.
We're going to be
talking about reports
and dashboards-- one
of my favorite topics--
data platform,
app building,
intelligent apps,
and so much more.
But it's not just about
us here in the studio,
We want to answer
your questions
about those new features.
And we've got a special
correspondent here
in the studio to help get
your questions answered
Wassim, how can people
ask their questions?
And what is up
trailblazers?
I'm Wassim from the
Salesforce social media
And today, I'm
here to help
you get all your burning
questions answered
about the new features in
the winter '24 release,
so you can learn
how to use them.
So what do you want to
ask our product experts
There are three ways that
you can submit a question
and get it answered
live, right now.
You can one, drop
a question right
here in Salesforce
plus in the Q&A tab.
Two, join the conversation
on X, formerly known
as Twitter, and post
your question using
Or three, submit
a question
in the Release Readiness
Trailblazer Community.
We'll be pulling questions
from all three sources.
And please, do not be shy.
If you have a question
about something,
chances are, somebody
else probably does too.
And also, if you
have any memes, GIFs,
or funny screenshots
from this live stream,
please share those
too, because I
want to know what's
on your mind.
All right, I'm
looking forward
to seeing your questions,
trailblazers, over to you
Thank you so much Wassim.
You're in for
it, because I
know people
are going to be
very excited
about what they're
And without further ado,
we're going to get going.
So to kick things off
today, talking about one
of my favorite
topics at Salesforce,
reports and dashboards
is Ankita Dutta director
This is Ankita Dutta,
product manager
for lightning and
data cloud reports
Let's start by talking
about the roadmap
and everything
we have coming up
in this release and
the future releases.
So our roadmap is divided
into four sections
as you can see over here.
The first one is
the classic gap.
So this is something
that we've heard
a lot from our community.
We know there are
lots of features you
The top ones over here
are formula builder.
That's going to go
GA in winter '24.
This was asked from
our trailblazers
in the last few releases.
We will show you a
demo of how this works.
Better filter edits,
sorting of legend values
are some of
the other ones.
And then finally,
CRT UI redesign.
That's something
we'll be working on.
So we know we
haven't given that UI
a whole lot of
love ever since it
But that's something that
we're going to change.
And we've heard you
loud and clear on that.
The next swimlane
is true to the core.
So this is where
we prioritize
Some of the things
we're working on
is transferring
dashboard ownership.
I'll show you
a demo of this.
And this goes open
beta in winter '24.
So far, anyone who created
the dashboard or someone
with dual
permissions was only
able to edit a dashboard.
So what happens
is the dashboard
goes into a silo
state if someone
leaves the company or
there's some other issue.
Now, you can
easily transfer
ownership of the
dashboard by that feature.
Other things we'll
be working on
is filtering reports
by summary information
starting by record count.
And other reference line
on dashboard components,
bucketing blank
picklist values,
The third swimlane is
performance enhancements.
So this is super
important to us.
And I want to mention
that performance
So this is something
we'll continually
Some of the ideas
that we have
are putting a
refresh button
on lightning reports or
building a performance
analyzer so that it tells
you why your reports are
There are a lot
of other things
that we're working on as
well within this topic.
So definitely something
we're addressing.
And the last swimlane
you see over here
is accessing reports
and dashboards
via various other channels
such as Slack, Mobile,
In the last demo,
I did show you
how post to Slack worked.
Now, you can also access
reports and dashboards
in Slack via
slash commands.
You have native and
optimized mobile reports
And finally, you
can use collections
within the home tab to
organize your reports
and dashboards
in one place.
The next thing I
want to talk about
is data cloud reports
and dashboards.
This feature is going
GA with winter '24.
So now you have the
similar, easy to use,
intuitive reporting
experience
You can easily
build your reports
and do all of the
usual functionality
that you're used to with
operational reporting
Furthermore, you can
also create dashboards
based on operational
reports and data cloud
And I'll show you a
demo of this as well.
And here are some of the
features specific to data
So we're going
with CRT UI beta.
So the similar experience
of creating CRT
is easily for
your reports.
You'll be able to create
reports using data cloud.
And you'll have
top features
such as sorting,
filtering, grouping,
aggregations--
everything that you're
You'll also have
totals, and subtotals,
and a set of
basic formulas
that will be
available to you.
We will keep
enhancing this.
And we'll keep working
on advanced features
such as prep-group
formulas,
or adding more
support for bucketing,
And then finally, you
have engagement features
such as download,
subscriptions
available to you as well.
For data cloud
dashboards, you'll
be able to create
data cloud dashboards.
You'll have all the
regular widgets available
You'll have the top
level filters, ability
to refresh,
dynamic dashboards,
All of that
available to you.
All right, so let's hop
right into the demo.
So the first demo I want
to show you over here
is the formula builder
that I was talking about.
So this is a pre-created
report over here.
And what I'm going
to do is turn off
So as you can see, there's
a new formula added over
here that shows
you percentage
of amount in comparison
to the total one.
So this is our classic
parent group formula.
How did I create
it, right?
So if I go into the
formula builder,
you can see that I've
pre-created this.
And now, you have this
awesome visualization
here on the right hand
side, similar to what
And you can see how
your formula is applied.
You can apply it
to the right level.
You can choose the row
groupings, et cetera.
All of that
available to you.
The next demo I
want to show you
is the dashboard
ownerships change.
So similar to what
I was talking about,
so that your
dashboard is not
Now, I have this dashboard
that I've created.
And what I can
do is simply
go ahead and click
on Change Owner.
And here I can
choose a new owner
that I want to assign
the dashboard to.
The new owner
gets edit access
And they will become
the new running user,
as well, if my user is
inactive in this case.
Finally, let me show you
a quick demo of data cloud
So I'm logged into
my data cloud org.
And what I'm going
to do over here
is go ahead and go
into my reports tab.
Once I do that and
click on New Report,
I will see this
new category pop-up
over here called
data cloud.
So for the purposes
of the demo,
let me choose a particular
report type that I've
And now, similar to what I
used to see in lightning,
I can see reports created
by me, created by others,
objects used in
this report type,
the fields
available, et cetera.
I'm going to click
on Start Report.
And I'm going to
pull in some fields
So let's pull in
these three fields.
And you'll see the
values pop-up over here.
I can group this
report by account type.
So let's say I want create
date less than today.
All of that is
available over here.
I can add formulas
if I choose to.
Everything is available
with this release.
And I can also add charts.
Now, let me go ahead
and save this report.
And maybe I'll call
it, RRL demo two.
Let's go ahead
and save this.
Once that is done, I
will have my engagement
features available to me,
to subscribe this report,
or export to this report.
Everything similar
to what you're
What I can also do is
add this to dashboard.
So let me add this
to a new dashboard.
And I can call it
RRL demo dashboard.
And I can see my report
pop-up over here.
I can use the chart
settings from the report.
Your report is easily
added to your data cloud
Furthermore,
you can also add
your operational reports
over here and save them
all together as
one demo dashboard.
And you can subscribe
to it or export it.
That is everything
we have for our demo.
I know that
people are going
to be going very
wild in the chat.
I'm sure about all of
those great reports
and dashboards
enhancements.
Wassim, let's
check in with you.
What's going
on in the chat?
All right, a lot is
going on in the chat.
Ankita, your demo
is getting some love
Stuart on X said,
custom report types
Now, back to the
Salesforce plus Q&A tab,
you just got a question
from Alex Chapman.
He's wondering, when will
you get report groupings
to flow as you scroll
through the results
like how it
works in classic?
Yeah, that's a
good question.
So if I understand
it right,
you want the
report groupings
to be available in flow so
it can be reused across--
the reports can be
used cross flow.
So that is something
that we've thought about.
In the past,
connecting reports
to flow it's something we
haven't prioritized yet.
But I'd love to
chat more with you
and understand your use
cases so we can see how
we can enable that and you
know what exactly are you
Like, do you want to
use specific outputs
Or are you looking
for certain formulas?
What exactly is
the use case.
So ask that question
again, Alex,
in the trailblazer
community.
And Ankita will be able
to follow-up with you
and get further into your
question and details.
And this is I know--
this was actually
a hot topic at Dreamforce
a few weeks ago.
Rich text filters
and image components,
But a lot of people
were asking why it's
Yeah, so that's a
really good question.
And I know we made
that decision back
when these features
were released.
We've heard the feedback
from our customers.
And we're actually
going to open this up
So I wanted to
announce that today,
that rich text filters,
image components,
and even top-level
filters will be five.
And it will be available
to all customers now.
Woo hoo, breaking news
here on Release Readiness
See, you're all getting
presents for tuning in.
You talked
about some plans
to revamp the CRT
user interface.
Can you give us a
little more details?
So that is something
that's been top of mind
And as I said, I know
we haven't given that UI
It's something that's in
our classic gap swimlane.
And we want to keep the
similar user experience
so that you're used to--
you have the same flow
You go choose
your objects.
You add your
lookup fields.
And you have all of that
functionality available
for you, but we
make it easier.
So you're not spending
hours building CRT UI
And that's the feedback
that we've heard.
So definitely, something
we've prioritized.
If you're interested in
providing your feedback,
again, do reach out
to us and let us know.
You're going to make
a lot of new friends
in this broadcast,
I can imagine.
Your trailblazer
community messages
are going to be getting
full very quickly.
We're going to keep going.
We have a lot
of great stuff
So we are next going to
be talking about some data
And to do that,
we are going
to be hearing from Chocks
Kandesamy, senior product
director at
product management.
Come on up and
give us that demo.
I am Chocks Kandesamy,
product manager
on the data platform side.
Let's look at our
winter '24 highlights.
So we are continuing
our investment
on the data to
insights faster.
So staged data is
going GA in winter '24.
We are enhancing our
faster incrementals
So that's beta in winter
'24 GA in spring 24.
We are also increasing
our number of connectors,
new beta connectors,
Amazon Athena,
Databricks, Hubspot,
and Marketo--
going beta in winter '24.
And our snowflake
now supports
OAuth for all flavors--
input, output,
And we are also
introducing new query
Our multivariate
timeseries
is going GA in winter '24.
And semi joins and anti
joins are going beta.
Let's look at some
of these in action.
Let's take a very
common use case,
accounts with
opportunities and owner
Let's say if your
data strategy involves
more than one
recipe and you
need to run this recipe
multiple times a day.
Let's look at the
runtime for this recipe.
The duration of this
recipe is 14 minutes.
But overall, over 70%
of this 14 minutes
is being done on the
either writing the data
This is where stage data
is going to help us.
So let's look at
the same recipe.
Now, I converted
everything
So how do we create
a stage data?
Let's click on the output
node-- right value,
Now you will have
an additional option
And in this
particular recipe,
we are outputting
to a stage data
All three of these
input data sets
Now let's look
at the runtime
The same recipe just
converted to a stage data
from 14 minutes, now it
only takes five minutes.
The entire improvement
that we got from
is from the output
and input nodes.
The entire input
and output nodes
now only take less than
one minute-- from 14
And imagine you need
to run this recipe
multiple times
a day or if you
are using this same graph
in multiple recipes.
So that's the n
number of runs
and the n number
of recipes
is what you're going
to get benefit from.
That is why stage
data is so powerful.
Now with that,
let's switch
gears and look at our
second feature, which
Imagine another
use case where
you need to
pull an account
with opportunities
but no orders.
There are more than
one way to do it.
In this example, you
can pull an account
And take a result of that.
Put it in another
widget as a binding.
And then get the account
with opportunities
But with semi
and anti joins,
you would be able
to do all of this
We are introducing semi
keyword and anti keyword.
In this example, we are
taking load account, load
oppty, doing a semi join.
And then take the
result of this
and do an anti join to get
all of this information
Now, let's even go
further with time series.
So time series is
getting an enhancement
with multivariate
timeseries.
Usually, for time series--
which is already GA
you can look
at a variable,
predict the future
data points,
look at the past data
seasonality for that.
With multivariate
timeseries,
we are introducing
that you
can include
multiple cofactors,
in this example, to
forecasted power.
Other than looking at
the past data for power,
we can also include
temperature,
precipitation,
or both, as well.
You can also do this,
what-if analysis
in multivariate
timeseries as well.
Let's look at the query
how it looks like.
So your xregfutures
is where
you will get the what-if
analysis by including
temperature and
precipitation
And arimax is
the algorithm
that we are using to
forecast future data
points for multivariate
timeseries.
So xreg is the
place where you can
All right, with
that, that's
pretty much for
the data platform.
All right, thank
you so much, Chocks.
Now, I bet we've got
some questions coming
Oh, we got a lot
of questions.
People love
your demo talks.
And dare I say, it was
chock full of innovation
Now, one question
I'm seeing come up
on Salesforce plus
in the Q&A tab
They're wondering, can
we use data cloud reports
in accounts or
contact pages
in order to add
further information
I think that
actually sounds
like it's probably a
question for you, Ankita.
Do you want to
quickly address that?
And then we're
going to get to you,
Absolutely,
yeah, yeah, sure.
You can embed
report charts
in account or
opportunity pages.
Similar to what
you can do today
So, yeah, it should
work seamlessly.
Chocks, now we're
coming to you.
First of all, I
love this shirt.
It really coordinated
today or something.
So question I
have for you,
can I continue to
use my dataflows
or should I
move to recipes?
If your use cases
is currently
supported in
dataflows, continue
But if you are
starting net new,
recipes is much
more intuitive
where our enhancements
are going in recipes now.
So if you are
starting net new,
I mean, it's
generally a good rule
I have a problem with
that, not a good cook.
So another question
for you Chocks,
let's talk about
stage data sets.
Can you use those
in dashboards?
Stage data sets are
meant for recipes only.
Whenever we register a
data set for a dashboard,
there is a lot of
optimization going on.
So stage data sets
cut down on that.
And that's how the
improvement is coming in.
And we started
doing this feature
after we're hearing from
customers that we wanted
to use the data sets
only on our dataflows,
So is that a way that we
can increase the runtime
So that's why stage
data is just meant
But we have roadmap
item to address
the overall improvement
for the dashboard runtime
Well, we're going to have
more questions for you.
We're going to have more
questions for you too,
This is just what-- it's
going to keep going.
But we have so much more
content to get through.
So we're going to go
ahead and shift gears
so that we can start
talking about the CRM
analytics app
building experience.
And to do that,
we are going
to be joined by Anirudh
Sridhar, director
And hello to all the
trailblazers out there.
I'm excited to show
all of the top product
highlights in
the app building
experience-- spanning
home, visualizations,
We got a bunch of
things lined up for you.
So let's get
straight to the demo.
I'm going to
start my journey
And in winter
'24, you can now
sort your asset results
by clicking on the column
To reset the order,
hit Reset Order.
Sorting results is
available on both browse
Let's jump into
a dashboard now.
We want to make it easier
for dashboard builders
to manage colors and
themes on widgets.
We have moved the
dashboard properties icon
And we've also added a
new tab called theme.
You can change the
background color
for all of your widgets
with just a single click.
You can also choose to
override any background
color that has been
applied by clicking Apply
Any color that
you selected
is also now available
in this new tab called
So this is a
great way for you
to bring your custom
color palette into CRM
and not have to copy
paste hex codes.
These colors will be
available in all pickers
Next, we move on to
the repeater widget.
We hope you've been
using the repeater
widget to create these
rich tabular data
And one key ask
from customers
has been to be able
to sort the data
You can now sort that
data on a repeater widget
Next, we go on to
selection interactions.
With interactions, you
can now actually create
dynamic, rich
consumer-grade app
like experiences
in your dashboards.
By just clicking
on something,
you can have different
pages kind of load up.
So in here, if I click
on Public Transport,
I see all of my details
on public transport.
I can go and now filter
by a particular person.
In order to get back
to that initial state,
you had to do a
bunch of work before.
Now, we have
introduced a new option
And with a single
click, you actually
just return back to
your original state.
Let's take a look at
how we configure that.
The clear selection option
is available on the text
So in my component, I have
a text widget with back,
On a click
event, I can now
choose to add a action
called clear selections.
And this works even if
you are in a component.
It will clear all of
the selections that
are currently active
in your dashboard.
Now, for customers
who have both CRM
and Tableau, we wanted
to make it easier
for you to pass filters
back and forward
between your
visualizations.
Right now if you
see, if I click
on a particular
element in my chart,
nothing is happening to
the Tableau dashboard
Let's make it interactive.
I select my
Tableau component.
We have a new tab
called parameters.
And let's add a parameter.
Let's connect--
parameters are
how you connect your
different components
So I want to pass
in the state value
into my Tableau dashboard.
Let's go ahead and
select the chart
from which I want
to grab the value.
I want to grab the
value of state.
And with a few
clicks, I've
Now, let's go and
test this out.
Now, this filter will be
applied to the dashboard
And as you can see,
with just a few clicks,
you're now able to
have both of them
exist in the
same dashboard
and have it be
interactive.
And last, but
not the least,
let's take a look at
some of the product
highlights for
the data cloud
We've introduced a join
UI for data cloud direct,
which now lets you build
multi-object insights
Many times your
data is spread
Let's take a look
at an example.
Let's say I want to report
on my harmonized case
data that's sitting
in data cloud.
And I want to really
search for the--
breakdown the
cases by accounts.
So I see my list of
accounts with the largest
number of cases, but
these are all account IDs.
I want it to be a
bit more readable.
Let's bring in
the account DMO.
And that's where
the names are.
So with just a
click of a button,
I can now see all
of the relationships
between different
objects in data cloud.
We reuse this
metadata to allow
you to add these objects
with just a few clicks.
So with just a
few clicks, I'm
going to add in
the account object.
And in my pickers, you
will see the case object.
But if you
scroll down, you
will also have access to
all of the other objects
that you can now use
in your visualization.
So let's break it
down by account name.
And with that, you can now
build multi-object inside
And those are some of
the top highlights,
key features that I
wanted to highlight
And I know there's going
to be a lot of questions
Wassim, can
you kick us off
All right, Ani that
Tableau enhancement,
Now, we got some questions
coming in for you.
First one is, for
the repeater widget,
can you customize
the list of fields
Oh, that is a good
question-- and yes.
The answer is, yes,
you can customize
the list of fields that
you want the repeater
It's as easy as
a few clicks.
You go into the
right panel.
And that's where you
can configure the fields
that you want to be
shown in the dropdown.
So this is a
great way for you
to really guide your users
towards which fields they
Now, you got me
excited because I like
And there was a lot of
pretty stuff in that.
But you also
showed the ability
to save your
common use colors.
This brings the idea
of themes or themes
in the future for
your products.
And we are really excited
to actually having
started on this
in winter '24.
We have got a
lot of feedback
from customers, a
lot of great ideas.
And the ability to
save your custom themes
is definitely top
of mind for us.
So with the my
saved colors,
you can now bring in
those custom colors in.
But we want to
make that reusable,
and just be able
to save that,
and be able to
have it be reusable
So themes is
definitely something
that's top of mind
for us that we
And I'm glad to
hear that it's
The other plans are
going to keep coming,
It's Release Readiness,
we get nerdy,
We have another
question for you.
what's the performance
of joined queries
in CRM data cloud direct?
That is another common
question that we do get,
I hear a lot
from customers.
Performance is very
important for us.
As you are embedding
this content,
our business
users are working.
We want it to
be really fast.
With data cloud
direct, all queries
against data cloud are
accelerated queries.
So we specifically chose
accelerated queries
for the performance
reasons.
So that we ensure
that those dashboards
load fast even if those
queries are complex.
The performance does
depend on the complexity
But we are
definitely looking
to have that be as
fast as possible
with the technology that
we have in data cloud.
Well, speaking
of fast, we got
to keep this moving
because we still
have more content
to get through.
Thank you for
that amazing demo.
And now, we're
going to get
And to do so, we
are going to be
joined by Behzad
Richey, director
My name is Behzad Richey.
I'm a product manager
with intelligent apps.
And I'm excited to
be here showing you
our latest innovations
in winter '24.
Starting with
industry apps,
we have a brand new
warranty analytics app
included with our CRM
for manufacturing skew.
The net zero app also
got a really cool
new forecasting and
what-if analysis
dashboard that
lets you analyze
changes and
emissions forecast
by asking questions
like, what
would happen if my
organization grew
Next, our flagship
revenue intelligence app
got some really cool new
capabilities as well,
including the commit
calculator, forecast
insights, and
product insights that
lets you compare win rates
for different products
Now, what I'm really
excited to be talking
to you today is our
two new intelligent app
offerings, service and
segment intelligence.
Service intelligence
empowers your service
leaders and agents
with out of the box
intelligent
insights to help
them improve their
customer service goals.
Segment intelligence
also provides out
of the box analytics
and insights
for your customer
segments and activations.
So with that, let's
jump into a demo.
Segment intelligence comes
included for marketers
And it's set up through
this self-service
installation process
that you see here.
So we're prompted to take
a few prerequisite steps
to ensure we're
bringing the right data
into the org, there
might be some light data
mapping here, for example,
picking the revenue
metric and even bringing
external data from Google
So once we have
completed all
of these
prerequisite steps,
finally, we can go
ahead and trigger
the installation by
clicking on the Install
Once we do that, we
take all your data
and we input it into
this beautiful pre-built
dashboard that
you see here.
So let's take a quick
tour of this dashboard
At the top, of course,
we have our filters
that lets us slice and
dice our data based
But even if we
don't filter it,
we get a really
great holistic view
of all the segments
that we have activated
giving our executive level
marketers the top line
data they need to
report on success
For example, they can
see things like return
on ad spend, or
revenue by channel,
If we scroll
down a bit, we
see that we have segment
performance here.
The specialists who
create the segments
can really use this
chart to understand
what's working
and what's not
working by looking
at top and low
What's really
useful here is
that we can click here
and filter these charts
For example, I can
click on conversion
to see what's having
the most impact.
We also have performance
by channel, some trends
of performance over time.
And down here, we
have a really cool way
of being able
to drill down
into individual segments.
So at the top of
the dashboard,
if I were to filter this
by a specific segment
or a group of
similar segments,
then I can come
down here and get
a visual breakdown
of that segment
For example,
let's click here
and choose loyalty
enrollment channel.
So now, this chart
helps me understand
how my customers
are enrolling
into our loyalty program
via various channels.
Right below that we have
these two bubble charts
showing our segment
performance in paid media
and email, where
each of these bubbles
Now here, if we take
a look at paid media,
for instance,
we see we have
a lot of segments with
high conversion rates
If we had segments in
the top left corner
with high cost and
low conversion, then
we would know to either
deactivate those or tweak
So that's segment
intelligence.
Now, let's jump into
service intelligence.
First, you'll notice
a very similar setup
process here,
where we're guided
to take a few prerequisite
steps to ensure
we have made the right
data connections.
We have installed and
deployed the service
And some basic steps like
ensuring our admin user
has the right
permission sets.
here, this last
prerequisite step
is just a single
click of a button.
Then we can go ahead and
start the installation
You'll notice that we
get this guided wizard.
And the first thing
it does for us is it
checks our org
to ensure we
have all the right
data and set up
Once this is
complete, we can
Then we have
some more options
and ways where we can
configure and customize
For example, I can
control data visibility
or customize
the dashboards
by answering a few
questions about my CSAT
And the last step, I
can give my app a name
and even schedule the app
refresh right from here
to ensure my app always
has the latest data.
I go ahead and click, OK.
And that kicks off the
installation process.
Now, that will take
a little bit of time.
So I've gone ahead and
done this ahead of time.
We can head over to
analytics studio.
And we can see all
the components,
and dashboards,
and various content
that this app
created for us.
So let's look at what
the experience looks
like from the lens
of a service leader.
Here, we are in our
omnichannel dashboard
which lets us track
routing efficiency
and agent performance
across channels.
I have KPIs
such as average
handle time, I
can look at work
volume, average speed
to answer, and more
I can also look at
the agent dashboard
to know who may
need my support.
I can see key
metrics for my team
like average handle time,
average speed to answer,
Service intelligence
also comes
with Einstein
conversation mining,
which analyzes the
conversations your agents
are having with the
customers and synthesizes
that data into insights
that can inform me
about potential trends
or topic clusters
that I may not
otherwise be aware of.
Finally, as a
service leader,
I can look at the
cases dashboard
to get a complete view
of my team's caseload.
And here, I have
important KPIs
like total escalated
cases, average time
to close, CSAT, and so on.
Now, service
intelligence can also
be useful for your
service agents.
When a service agent comes
to their service console,
And they have this
beautiful performance
dashboard embedded
right there for them.
This gives them
a quick snapshot
And it helps them
prioritize their day.
And what's really great
is that, because service
intelligence is
native to Salesforce,
I can take action
directly from here.
So when I see a case
that needs my attention,
I can directly
open that record.
When I land in
that case record,
I can see at the
top left here
the case effort score for
this particular customer.
This shows me the
friction the customer
has had to go through
in resolving this case.
And right below
that, I'm prompted
to give this
customer a discount.
And finally, to
the right here,
I see AI powered insights
and recommendations
by Einstein showing me
propensity to escalate
and predicted
time to resolve.
And not only
Einstein provides me
with these insights,
but it's even showing me
the leading causes
and what I can do
All right, so that
was a demo of service
and segment intelligence.
We're going to get
even more into service
But I know that
you have questions,
I can feel them
coming into the chat.
Wassim, kick us off with
a question for Behzad.
All right, bravo, Behzad.
The people are loving your
demo in the Salesforce
I'm seeing Matt is
saying, in all caps, yay,
And on that note, we have
a pretty general question
What is Einstein
conversation mining?
So Einstein
conversation mining
looks at all the
conversations
that your agents
are having
And it looks for
topic clusters.
It uses a machine
learning clustering model
And then you have
access to these reports.
And like the
dashboard we saw
in the demo, where you can
see those topic clusters
along with other
aggregated data
like average
time for chats,
or total volume by
different clusters,
It's really
mining the data
to give you the insights.
So we're going to keep
you in the hot seat
here for a few
more questions.
So you showed some
interesting things there
with segment intelligence.
And some people
might be wondering,
what's the difference
between segment
intelligence, and
marketing cloud, or even
Yes, yes, so
segment intelligence
Products like Marketing
Cloud Intelligence
or Tableau can really
take on any use
But those products,
obviously,
require their
own licenses.
They require their
own set of skills.
There's going to be more
involved with the setup,
with building the
visualizations,
bringing the data,
and all that stuff,
whereas segment
intelligence
And so it's really
built for marketers
who use data cloud to
activate their customer
segments, and want to
get an understanding
of the effectiveness,
and performance
And thank you for
clarifying that.
It's an important use
case that is different.
You're all now
in the hot seat,
officially, because
we are now in the Q&A.
So I am going to kick it
off with a question for--
Ankita, we're going
to come back to you.
I knew it's
going to be me.
We're going to
come back to you.
All right, the
question is, can users
sort by multiple columns
like they can in Excel?
Oh, interesting question.
Yeah, and when you say
sort by multiple columns,
again, I think we
need more specifics.
I think you're
talking about
if you have
multiple groupings
and then you want to sort
within those groupings.
Reach out to me,
because I need
to understand a bit more
of what exactly are you
And yeah, we
can definitely
talk about it being
on the roadmap.
Ask that question to the
trailblazer community.
And we will get
you a very, very
I have one more
question here.
This one looks
like Chocks's.
How does incremental
data update
And this is a
question from Gita.
The incremental
data, there
are two different
features,
staged data and the
incremental upload.
Incremental uploads only
look at the last change
And then we make sure
that when we register
the data, only that
piece of the data
gets registered not
the rest of everything.
So that's where we
get the improvement
Stage data is
about making it
readily available for
recipes to consume.
So two different features.
Thank you for clarifying.
Ani, I got one
for you now.
We're just going
on down the line.
This question is
from Niquette.
The question is, what
about changing column
names in aggregate
flex queries
So if I understand
the use case, that is,
if I have a query
with binding,
I want to be able to have
a column name be changed.
So I hear that from
quite a bit of customers
now, actually,
who are looking
to really have that
column names be dynamic.
So as of now,
those column names
are located in a
different place,
which is why currently,
they are not dynamic.
But that is something
that we are looking into--
is how can we
allow customers
to not just make that
data dynamic but also
other metadata such
as the column headers.
So it is something
that I think
We don't just
have an ETA yet.
But I think the
more feedback
we hear about
this, the better it
helps me to really
prioritize that.
I'm hearing more comments
in the trailblazer
community, maybe some
idea exchange votes.
Get it on everybody
if you want more.
But great to know
that you're already
Wassim, I want to
check back in with you
because I bet some people
are sharing some excited
thoughts about what
they just saw today.
What's going
on in the chat?
All right, the chat is lit
and so is social media.
Actually, we're
getting some love.
Rachel on X is
saying that she
loves seeing the updates
coming to reports
And Stuart has
a question, too.
He's asking,
in CRM, will we
be able to use
direct connections
such as live snowflake
and use them in recipes,
do joins,
actions, queries,
and apply row
level security?
It's going to be
me and Ani so we're
I think the live query
is for the dashboards.
So I think probably
that's where Ani is going
For the rest
of the things,
as soon as you have a
data set or any connection
that you made in the data
manager connection area,
that data will be
available for recipes
And in general, what
I've been hearing
from customers
is that when
they want to connect
to live, to that data
source, for
example, snowflake,
they usually manage
all of the transforms
So that's where
they get to manage
And then from a
consumption perspective,
it's when we want
to really make
it super easy for them
to be able to connect
And then just use that
to visualize that data.
So that's what we've been
focused on the dashboard
side-- is to be able to
connect to that live.
And then be able
to just visualize
I love also the
tag team answer.
This is why we like
being in person, live
We get really
great answers
Behzad, I'm going
to come to you.
All right, the
question is, can I
change my answers
that I provide
the wizard after I install
service intelligence?
And what level of
customizability--
that's a word that I need
to customize how I say
do I have with these apps?
So, yes, as we
saw in the demo,
in service
intelligence, when
we start the
installation process,
we're able to
configure and customize
the app through that
wizard by answering
Now, after the
installation,
you can always go back
and reconfigure the app.
Where you can
retrigger the wizard,
you can change the answers
you gave previously
to customize the
app differently.
You can also create new
instances of the app.
And each of those
can be configured
and customized, again,
separately on its own.
Now, perhaps
most importantly,
service intelligence
comes with the full power
of the CRM
analytics platform.
And you can edit
all the dashboards,
You can create your
own dashboards.
So it's fully
customizable.
With segment intelligence,
slightly different story.
So in this first version
of segment intelligence,
there is no
customizability.
Of course, you saw the
filters in the dashboard,
so that lets you do
some slicing and dicing
But in the first
version, the team really
just wanted to provide
a ready-to-use, easy,
streamlined experience
for all of our customers.
But they're
thinking about--
and I'll say this
with a safe harbor--
Forward-looking
statement, everyone.
They're thinking
about, potentially,
offering more
customizability
And we would love to
get everyone's feedback
so we can prioritize
that for future releases.
Another theme posted
in the trailblazer
Let us know how much
you care about it.
Great, thank you
for that context.
And just as a reminder to
everyone who's watching,
we are monitoring
the live Q&A,
the chat in Salesforce
plus that you see.
It's either like
right here, or there,
And we are also
watching the trailblazer
community-- a trailblazer
community group
And we're watching
X or whatever
And so actually, to
tap into that, Wassim,
I'm going to
come back to you.
What's going on in all
of the chat places?
All right, I'm seeing
a question come up
in both X or
Twitter as well as
the Salesforce plus
Q&A. This one is
The question is, what
about changing column
name in aggregate
flex query
When will we get
Postman API collection
So I think we
answered that already.
But I think it's
a really good--
maybe let's reiterate
that a little bit.
Yeah, in fact, I did
think of something
So you know what,
this me a chance to--
So basically,
when you have
a query with
binding, right now,
if you're using a version
called compact form 2.0,
that is not available yet.
So a workaround
that you can
do today itself is
to actually go back
to the compact form
1.0 version, which
can actually does
support being
able to override those
column names dynamically.
So that is a workaround
that you can use today.
That being said, being
able to dynamically
change the column
names is something
that we are looking to
support in compact form
And I think, based on
the feedback we receive,
we can prioritize
it accordingly.
So this is
timely feedback.
Good, I love
that you thought
about the more
detailed answer to that
OK, Ankita, coming
back to you.
Actually, everyone's
pretty popular today.
But this question
is from Christina.
She asks, in the reports
with the formula--
in the reports with the
formula record count,
can you use the formula
to filter the report?
So can you use formulas
to filter reports?
this came from
Idea Exchange.
And we are starting
with filtering reports
We're starting
with record count.
That's the ask
we're working on,
which relates to the first
part of the question.
In the future,
yes, we are going
to look at filtering
by other things
such as formulas
or aggregations,
because I know that was
one of the asks as well.
So yes, it is
on the roadmap.
I don't have an exact
release date yet for it.
But we're starting
with record count.
And that's something
we'll continue working on.
I love all the
roadmap data
you're giving us, little
insights into where
So actually, speaking
of that, Ankita,
you were put on the
spot a little bit
in true to the
core at Dreamforce
And you already made
the big announcement.
Remind us of
the announcement
that you shared
earlier in this show.
So UI only the features
such as rich text image
and top five level
filters on dashboards
will now be available for
all customers not just
Hooray, this
is so exciting.
We're going to go back
to some questions.
Let's go, Chocks,
this is coming to you.
Akiko Mueller is
asking, when will stage
Let's go, Behzad,
this is for you.
I think I can understand
what Lindsey is asking.
Do you have to
be in the service
option of the
waffle to see this,
to see, I believe,
the intelligence app
Sorry, can you
ask that again?
Lindsey is asking,
do you have
to be in the service
option of the waffle?
I believe the app,
maybe the app--
I assume they're
asking about service
The app setup is
done in just regular
And you can search for it.
Service intelligence
will show up.
Obviously, you've had to
purchase the skew first.
But yes, once the
app is installed,
it actually not only
produces all the data
transformations, the
dashboards queries,
and everything
you need, it also
creates that service
intelligence tab
that you may have seen
in the demo I was on.
And that tab you can add
it to your service app.
So then, when you go
in the waffle service,
you will see the
service intelligence
as one of the tab
options there.
So that's all
configurable.
You can add the tab to any
of your lightning apps.
That's how you get
it in the waffle.
Well, now I'm
hungry, because I'm
You may have to turn it
on for the right user
profiles, for
the tab to be
Yes, as every
good admin knows,
that's one of the
most important parts--
is making sure that
your users have access
to the beautiful things
that you've built.
So I'm actually going to
come over to you, Chocks.
Speaking of waffles,
going back to recipes.
I know, it's like
lunchtime, salmon.
Are there plans
to increase recipe
Currently, we can only
run one at a time.
Whoever asked
the question,
first, I want to
say I'm with you.
Yes, there are
plans in spring
We are trying to merge
the data flow and recipe
Today, you can run two
data flows, one recipe.
Starting spring '24,
no more separate
Whoever comes
first, will run.
So if you have
three recipes,
I have multiple burners
going at the same time,
I'm going to try
and veer away
from the food,
because I think I'm
Let's see, oh, Ankita,
we're coming back to you.
Amber wants to
know, when can we
or when will we be able
to embed dashboards
I know that has
been an ask.
It is something that's not
on our roadmap right now.
Embedding dashboards
on record pages
is a bit of a
complicated ask.
And what we
generally advise
is for advanced
features like that,
talk to Chocks and
Anirudh and you'll
see CRM analytics,
because it
comes with a lot of
other details out.
As of now, that's
not on our roadmap.
We'll see, that's
why we have you
Well, speaking
of team sports,
you all represent
a huge group
of engineers and very
talented people who
build our products
at Salesforce.
And you shared some
roadmap and some insights
But I would love to know--
Behzad, I'm
starting with you,
I mean, you showed
some intelligent apps.
This is an exciting space.
What are you most
looking forward
to in the next
few releases
or where this technology
is going to go?
So I'm really
excited about
our intelligent apps
track, because I'm sure--
hopefully, our
listeners are
aware of some of the apps
we've had in the past.
We have lots of apps
built on CRM analytics.
And as we saw with segment
and service intelligence,
we're building the
next generation
of intelligent apps built
on top of data cloud.
So really excited for us
to be taking advantage
of all the data
cloud capabilities,
because now you
can have way
more data, way more
different types
of data to have that
single source of truth.
Where we can then leverage
that in apps and maybe
even have sort of
cross app synergies
Taking advantage of
all of that data.
Now we get to do
fun stuff with it.
Ankita, I'm coming to you.
I mean, you've
been working
on some of our
core features
when it comes to
reports and dashboards
What are you most
looking forward
to delivering and where
this is all going?
So I think reports and
dashboards are sort of
On the core reports
and dashboards,
super excited to work
on our classic gaps.
But I know that has huge
impact on our community.
They've been
asking for that,
some of the
true to the core
features I talked
about, which
does include performance.
Because I know there
was a lot of feedback
on the running Astro
and performance.
So yes, totally
looking into that.
On the data cloud reports
and dashboards side,
super excited about
bringing it to parity.
There are so many
powerful features
we have like bucketing,
matrix reports,
formulas that our
customers use.
Why not do all
that on top of data
cloud using our
same easy to use
So yeah, super excited
about all of that.
Well, that's great
too, because everyone
who already knows
how to use reports
and dashboards will
now be empowered
to do the same
level of analysis
in data cloud which
is really exciting.
Chocks, I'm coming to you.
What do you most
looking forward to
in the direction of
what the product area
To provide data
to all these guys.
So that's the first thing
I'm going to work on.
I think we have an
exciting roadmap
for data platform for
the next few releases.
So we're going to
start with incrementals
So a lot of data coming
in through external
Probably, we'll prioritize
the external connector
for Salesforce,
Amazon S3 coming next.
And then we are
going with the theme
for optimize for recipes.
So that's where
we were saying,
other than stage
data, there
are ways to improve
data set performance.
So data sync is going
to come up and provide
It's going to be exciting.
You're rounding out
the discussion here.
Ani, what are you
most looking forward
to in your area
of development?
So for the app
building experience,
we wanted to continue
to push forward
in enabling our
awesome users to be
able to build that
consumer-grade rich app
And part of that
is really allowing
them to customize
those apps a lot more.
So that's why
we're going down
that road of theming,
chart, even the example
of being able to configure
your column names
These are all sort
of those productivity
as well as
customizability.
Things that we would like
to see in the product.
So that's where we're
kind of focusing
And this is what's so
special about Release
Readiness Live, it's we
can talk to you-- who
helped build our
products-- about what's
coming next, where this
is all kind of going,
and getting that insight.
So thank you for sharing
all of that with us.
I'm sorry, no
lunch break yet.
Ankita, I'm coming
back to you.
All right, we
have a number--
this is from
David Hahn, we
have a number of users
who want scheduled reports
But their day-to-day
work isn't in Salesforce.
So they aren't
Salesforce users.
Will we be able to
subscribe external users
or mailing lists to
reports in the future?
Yeah, so that's
a good question.
Our policy so far has
been-- because this data
is within Salesforce,
all of our subscriptions
generally can either
go to you on Slack
or to your
email addresses.
But you need to be
a Salesforce user.
You can always
forward them
But I think you
can understand
that as a company,
we don't want
to take the liability of
external email addresses
So not on the roadmap,
not our policy as of now.
But hey, just tell
them to use Slack.
This has been
absolutely wonderful,
I so appreciate all
of you taking the time
to put together
these demos, to share
your insights with our
incredible community
of trailblazers
and builders.
And thank you for all
the work that you do.
And thank you Wassim
for representing us
If you have not gotten
your question answered,
Please, ask it in the

sure you ask it in there.
And we will be sure
to follow up with you.
believe it or
not, even more
winter '24 Release
Readiness Live
