Fewer administrative tasks helps Indeed employees focus on their mission: helping people get jobs.

Summary

Manual processes for onboarding kept employers from posting jobs quickly. Agentforce will autonomously troubleshoot issues and help employers get set up to be matched with job seekers fast.

About

Indeed is the #1 job site in the world.* They connect job seekers with meaningful work and employers with top talent, fast.

Manual tasks, disparate systems, and siloed data slowed Indeed’s ability to connect people with meaningful work.

Indeed is the leading jobs marketplace in the world, trusted by employers and job seekers alike. It hosts 600 million job-seeker profiles and helps more than 3.5 million employers connect with the right candidates.

But they aren’t sitting idle at the top spot. Their mission is simple but powerful: connect people with meaningful work. They know how vital their role is, and they want to match even more people to jobs — faster. Speed is essential as just three months of unemployment can push many individuals below the poverty line. “A job can be the difference between being able to pay rent or not,” said Linda West, Vice President of Business Systems. “We take that very seriously.”

Indeed’s commitment also extends to employers. Reducing job search duration requires onboarding more new employers so they can post jobs faster, but with the same amount of scrutiny to maintain trust. Indeed carefully reviews documents like business licenses and tax forms to ensure postings are legitimate, giving job seekers confidence that opportunities are genuine. Roughly 22% of employer support requests come from onboarding and account moderation — often due to blurry uploaded forms or missing data.

Indeed’s chatbot could help with some of these issues, but its abilities were limited. For example, when posting a job, employers could use the chatbot to verify their account, and, once approved, the bot could send a link to complete the posting. But if information is missing, the employer had to contact a representative to resolve the problem. These requests took valuable time away from employers, hindered them from quickly finding talent, and limited opportunities for job seekers.

Additionally, disconnected marketing systems and siloed data limited personalization and prevented Indeed from seeing the full picture of both employers and job-seekers. Despite sending over 300 million emails a year, fragmentation made data-driven segmentation and decision-making difficult, often resulting in one-size-fits-all marketing communications. “Understanding our customers requires a ton of data at scale,” said Linda West, VP of Business Systems. “It’s important that we can examine, analyze, and activate that data to make decisions more easily.”

And even when data was available, it wasn’t always actionable. In-house dashboards typically showcased an overwhelming amount of metrics, instead of surfacing clear insights that tell a story, making it difficult to define priorities.

For Indeed, solving these challenges wasn’t just operational necessity — it was a strategic necessity. “The better we are at providing experiences that accomplish those goals for job seekers and employers, the more we’re able to achieve our mission of helping people get jobs.”

Agentforce helps employers resolve onboarding issues faster to speed up job postings.

Agentforce, the agentic layer on the Salesforce Platform, provides trusted, 24/7 support for employers onboarding to the Indeed platform for the first time, as well as those already using it. Agentforce autonomously answers verification questions, resolves issues, and handles administrative tasks — drastically improving efficiency and productivity.

Because Agentforce can reason across Indeed’s comprehensive data, it’s more powerful than Indeed’s traditional chatbot. With unified data in Data Cloud, Agentforce can pull information from all of Indeed’s different systems and formats ‌— including unstructured data like articles on updating a job posting, and structured data, like an employer’s job posting history or account status.

“Our data has been captive, unusable in our go-to-market strategies because it's been too cost prohibitive to move data around,” said Chief Information Officer Anthony Moisant. “Data Cloud is a game changer.”

Agentforce can go further thanks to MuleSoft, which securely connects  Indeed’s third-party data sources, systems, and applications. MuleSoft acts as the integration layer between the Salesforce Platform and other third-party systems, such as Workday, ensuring all data flows seamlessly to and from Data Cloud. This real-time data exchange allows Agentforce to instantly access the most relevant information, making it even more effective at providing timely answers and reducing the administrative burden on Indeed’s team.

“We’re looking at 100 different use cases for applying Agentforce to automate the things that can accelerate and remove from the day-to-day responsibilities of our folks, so they can have more impact,” said West.

Marketing Cloud Next powers more personalization and two-way conversations.

With Agentforce strengthening support for employers, Indeed turned inward to improve efficiencies for their internal teams as well. “We want to give our employees more time to focus on what matters most: building strong connections with our customers,” said West.

With Agentforce in Marketing Cloud Next, AI agents are built right into the flow of work for Indeed’s marketers. And because Marketing Cloud Next is deeply integrated with Data Cloud, marketers and Agentforce have all the customer data they need in one place, ready to turn into captivating campaigns and high-impact messaging. Agentforce automates the repetitive, behind-the-scenes work that once took marketers days or weeks in seconds.

For example, a marketer planning a campaign might ask Agentforce to build a segment of job seekers interested in entry-level sales roles, and Agentforce can instantly surface the right audience using Data Cloud. Agentforce can also help with writing copy, scheduling sends, or other campaign tasks that once slowed teams down.

“In this new agentic world, you can now use plain language to pull together a segment of target customers who might be interested in the product you're promoting, instead of having to understand every nuance of your data,” said West. This speed and simplicity frees employees to focus on creativity, problem-solving, and deeper customer understanding.

This same technology also transforms the nature of marketing itself. Historically, Indeed’s email campaigns were static, one-way communications meant to educate recipients on a topic. Now, with Agentforce in Marketing Cloud, Indeed’s campaigns can be two-way conversations. Agentforce can respond intelligently to questions, book meetings, or guide someone to the right resources — all within marketing channels. For employers, that could mean instant help posting a job, while job seekers might get personalized opportunities delivered right when they need them.

“You can get a response from Agentforce and immediately be connected with the right resources,” West said. “We’re actually building a relationship in real time with customers in a way that was impossible before. It feels a bit like magic.”

Tableau turns instinct into impact by grounding decisions in trusted, unified data.

At Indeed, data is more than numbers on a screen — it’s the foundation for how the business runs. Tableau is a centralized analytics platform at Indeed, keeping teams like sales, HR, finance, and marketing aligned on a single source of truth. Having standardized analytics means decisions are faster and more trusted. Years ago, leaders debated over defining revenue. Today, they can drill into revenue by market or customer with confidence, knowing everyone is looking at the same data.

For Indeed’s marketing team, that shared context is essential. They invest heavily to connect job seekers with opportunities and help employers find the right talent. For companies like Indeed, Tableau can complement Marketing Cloud Next by showing how campaigns are performing — what job seekers are engaging with, what employers are asking for, and where budgets will have the most impact. “When you're looking at data, it has to tell a story,” said West. “Tableau helps us understand what's happening with our customers so we can make smarter, more informed decisions about campaigns and spend.”

Dashboards track everything from site speed to SEO performance, helping teams spot issues quickly and keep the job seeker web experience smooth.

Indeed frequently tests new ideas — whether it’s how to improve the employer experience or what features resonate most with job seekers — and Tableau makes it possible to measure those tests in a meaningful way.

“The data actually tells you what they need,” said Moisant. “Having instinct and the ability to see around corners coupled with supporting data is incredibly valuable in ensuring we're making the best decisions possible.”

Indeed’s vision with Tableau extends to the future with Tableau Next, where it will work alongside Slack and Data Cloud as part of their movement toward becoming an agentic enterprise. Powered by consistent, trusted definitions, the three tools in tandem will deliver insights right where employees work. “There's a foundational throughline I've come to realize which is providing value where our people are,” Moisant said. “It’s transparent, it’s simple, and it’s connected. I think that's the value.”

To speed up hiring while maintaining a trusted, secure platform at scale, Indeed needed a solution that unified data and automated key tasks. What makes Agentforce a compelling solution to Indeed isn’t just AI, but the deeply unified Salesforce Platform — and the power it unlocks. “The platform allows us to build and reuse and re-leverage over and over again, for so many different use cases,” Moisant said. “It comes down to one thing: simplicity. Complexity kills speed at many organizations, but radical simplicity is our tool.”

With Data Cloud, Indeed harmonizes their extensive data and can now take action on it across apps and with Agentforce. MuleSoft ensures smooth integration with external systems, empowering teams with instant access to all their critical information in a unified view. Unified data makes it easy for Indeed to deploy Agentforce in game-changing ways and produce personalized marketing campaigns through Marketing Cloud Next.

“We chose Salesforce because of the power of the platform. That platform is expansive. That platform is trusted. That platform allows us to innovate very quickly across all of our customer bases,” said Moisant. “We have seen that Data Cloud can allow us to do that much more efficiently, much faster, get real-time connectivity to our job seekers and our employers at incredible scale.”

Ultimately, Salesforce will help Indeed on their way toward the goal of reducing the time it takes for job seekers to get hired by 50%. “There’s a world of opportunities and talent that need to find each other,” said West.
